Time to honor our women
The Filipino women of today are more proactive, assertive, passionate, and empowered. They play a very significant part in our society, be it in government, the academe, private and public sectors, and business and entrepreneurship.
Following the success of the 6th Filipina Entrepreneurship Summit, where Santa Elena Construction and Development Corp. president Alice Eduardo served as co-chair, I recently held a gathering in my home and invited successful and inspiring Filipina entrepreneurs. This was also to honor 50 inspiring women of passion who are the paragons of success.
Among the 50 women are thriving entrepreneurs — founders and next-generation trailblazers; social entrepreneurs — innovators and trendsetters for the greater good; and intrapreneurs — corporate executives who worked their way to the top with an enterprising and entrepreneurial mindset.
It was also a privilege to have in a mini-forum three very inspiring and successful Filipinas, namely Sheila Marcelo (CEO, Care.com), Maria Ressa (CEO, Rappler), and the world’s first licensed armless pilot and motivational speaker, Jessica Cox. These three shared their inspirational success stories with more than 200 women entrepreneurs at the gathering.
It was a night full of insights, learning, and inspiration from these exceptional Filipinas. Go Negosyo celebrates the success of these Filipina entrepreneurs, for they inspire and uplift the spirit of entrepreneurship in our country.
