MANILA, Philippines - For generations, Pascual Laboratories (PascualLab) has passionately provided Filipino families with excellent and innovative health and wellness products to help improve their quality of life. In celebration of its 66th year, this organizational “family” that serves other families takes its passion for health and love for life further by launching the PascualLab SEED Initiative — a Corporate Social Responsibility program that embraces less fortunate communities, providing them with opportunities for better health, better education, and better environmental practices.
In what the company describes as “CSR with heart,” SEED, as the program is called, stands for “Sowing to Educate, Empower, and Develop.” Projects under PascualLab’s SEED Initiative mark sincere efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of its beneficiaries, aiming to uplift them from their current situation. PascualLab believes that it is only through collaboration with the community that true transformation can be achieved. And, while it knows that it cannot address all needs, PascualLab hopes to contribute, at the very least.
The SEED program goes beyond philanthropy, or dole-outs of medicine and charity. Instead, it provides donations, assistance, opportunities, and partnerships that PascualLab’s adopted communities and/or beneficiaries can cultivate into something sustainable. So far, this has included the adoption and monitoring of health in a Habitat for Humanity community, active participation in Earth Hour and the adoption of green practices within its premises, and even a partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to teach public schools about climate change and its effects on health.
Most recently, in response to the needs of those affected by the flooding from the recent Southwest Monsoon, PascualLab has made donations of much-needed medicines to various institutions.
A true corporate citizen, PascualLab actively engages its employees (called “family members”) with opportunities for volunteerism. Social responsibility, after all, is one of the organization’s corporate values. Through their time and efforts, PascualLab not only serves communities but builds a culture of service and compassion as well.
While the program may still be in its infancy, PascualLab’s practice of corporate social responsibility has been established for years. And, with its long legacy of caring, valuing, and empathizing with the lives and dreams of generations of Filipino families, the SEED it has planted will continue to grow.
