Citibank raises a toast to partnership and stronger ties
MANILA, Philippines - Citi recently hosted a thanksgiving dinner for its clients, marking another year of continued partnership and stronger ties. Nearly 200 guests glimpsed Diwali, known as the festival of lights, and one of the most important festivals celebrated in India.
Citi Asia Pacific CEO Shirish Apte and Citi Philippines country head Sanjiv Vohra welcomed CEO guests and dignitaries, which included Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas governor Amando Tetangco Jr., Energy Secretary Jose Rene Almendras, Securities and Exchange Commission chairperson Teresita Herbosa, Philippine Stock Exchange president Hans Sicat and India Ambassador Shri Yogendra Kumar. Decorated with the rich hues of Diwali and adorned with lights, flowers and candles, the Peninsula Manila’s Rigodon Ballroom created for guests a feel of one of the biggest Hindu festivals that also highlighted a bright fireworks display.
“We wanted to show our gratitude to our clients through this intimate affair as we end another great year for Citi in the Philippines,” said Vohra. “We look forward to another excellent year of service for our clients as we mark our 110th anniversary next year, while Citi as a global brand turns 200 years old.”
As Indian dances were performed during the dinner party, guests joined in and learned a few steps of the traditional dance. Indoor fireworks signaled the start of the colorful program. Guests also had a taste of authentic Indian fare, which completed the Diwali feast and truly depicted the rich culture of India.
