MANILA, Philippines - The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s (CBTL) Small Talks for Big Changes is a string of brunch talks inspired by the concept of out with the old and in with the new. The first installment of this weekly session gave attendees the chance to discuss their finances with Randell Tiongson, director of the Registered Financial Planners Institute.
Working to empower people by making them conscious of their buying patterns, Tiongson talked about how changing one’s behavior can improve one’s quality of life.
“We know that here in the Philippines, people put too much effort in lifestyle,” shares Randell. “Whenever there are new items or sales in malls, people get out of control. We spend too much money on luxuries, and yet our problem remains to be poverty — so much poverty, so much instability. The biggest problem is our behavior.”
Aside from Randell’s lecture, the brunch also featured a Q&A portion and sampling of CBTL’s offerings. Coffees and teas served during the event were prepared using the brand’s new single-serve system: the CBTL. Dubbed “the future of coffee and tea,” this personal barista makes it possible for coffee and tea aficionados to enjoy more than 70 varieties of their favorite CBTL drinks in the comfort of their own homes, and with just the touch of a button.
