'Entrepreneur' launches first-ever student challenge
MANILA, Philippines - Entrepreneur magazine dares college students to turn their bright ideas into big profits with the first-ever Entrepreneur Student Challenge as it marks its 10th year of championing entrepreneurship among Filipinos. Budding entrepreneurs who will take on the challenge have a chance to be featured in Entrepreneur magazine, and win a cash prize of P100,000 to help start their business venture and other special prizes.
Students enrolled in colleges and universities in Metro Manila can join this competition either as an individual or as a team with a maximum of six members by sending a business plan to entreprstudentchallenge @summitmedia.com.ph on or before Sept. 30. The proposed business can be in any field and must require a total initial capital of less than P1 million. The format for business plans is available in the Entrepreneur Student Challenge mechanics page in the August issue of Entrepreneur Philippines.
Business plans will be judged according to the following criteria: completeness of the business plan, soundness and viability of the business plan, efficient use of available resources, and innovation.
The best business plan will win P100,000 cash to be used solely as starting capital for the proposed business. The winning team will also get additional prizes from Aesthetic Science, Bliss Yoga, Etude House, Gold’s Gym, Love Manila, OMF Literature, Sari Sari Mall, Neo, Red Baroness Coffee and Spa. Winners will be announced in the fourth week of October and will be awarded this November.
