MANILA, Philippines - After 25 successful years, Splash Corporation, the country’s top personal care, beauty, health and wellness company, is now shifting into higher gear.
“Splash is now at a very exciting stage of its existence,” said Dr. Rolando Hortaleza, Splash chairman. “In the last 25 years, we saw a small backyard operation with P12,000 in starting capital grow into a multi-billion-peso, publicly listed firm and become among the top companies in its industry. Splash is truly a Filipino business dream come true. But now, our dream is to go beyond our achievements — to go beyond our shores, our current portfolio of products, our current distribution channels. No longer are we just aiming to be the best and the biggest in the Philippines. We want to make a difference in the world. And I’m happy to say we’re now in a great position to do just that.”
Hortaleza decided to beef up the company’s management team by hiring highly seasoned managers who have had extensive experience in international business, product development and market expansion. Recently, Splash formally announced the appointment of the following key executives who will serve as members of the Executive Committee: Eric Roel E. Domagas, president and COO, was previously vice president and director-Non Alcoholic Beverage (International) of San Miguel Corporation, who led the company’s US$800-million expansion in Asia and Australia.
Veneranda M. Tomas, EVP and chief financial officer, was senior vice president and director of Group Audit at San Miguel Corporation and is currently a member of the board of directors of Seaoil Philippines, Inc.
Jose G. Vega, SVP and GM for Philippine Operations, was SVP for sales and distribution of Digitel Mobile Philippines Inc.
Pedro G. Picornell, VP for Research and Supply Chain Management, was the former senior vice president for operations of Senbel Fine Chemicals.
Lynneth P. Malabanan, VP for Corporate Services, rejoined the company on April 1, bringing more than 15 years of experience in information technology, enterprise resource planning, systems integration, SAP, quality assurance and business process reengineering.
Ace Vincent V. Villa-real, AVP and head of International Division, started his stint with Splash on April 15 as assistant vice president for business development under the same division.
Garyzaled O. Morales, AVP and head of direct selling, started his career at Splash as a member of the finance group, where he was an inventory staff member in 1995 and materials analyst in 1996.
“We have drawn up the roadmap to establish Splash as a truly world-class company,” said Hortaleza.
