General Electric hosts 4th invitational golf tournament

-

MANILA, Philippines - General Electric (GE) recently hosted the fourth GE Invitational Challenge 2010, an event made more meaningful as the company marks its 75th year as a corporation in the Philippines.

One of the activities in celebration of this milestone event, the tournament was a gesture of gratitude to GE’s corporate partners. Held at the pristine fairways of Sta. Elena Golf Club, it was an occasion meant to nurture conviviality between GE businesses in the Philippines and their clients, in a day of fun and relaxation for all those who participated.

Led by Colin Low, GE president for Philippines, Singapore and Cambodia/regional executive for Growth Initiatives, ASEAN, the event was participated in by GE business leaders and key GE customers, business partners and associates.

In his opening remarks, Low said, “This is one activity that all of us in GE look forward to year after year. Aside from being a pleasant day away from our offices, providing us with a much-needed respite, the GE Invitational Golf Tournament, more importantly, is our way of showing appreciation to everyone who continues to support us and grow with us through the years. We are very pleased with the good turnout, as always, and the overall success of this year’s tournament.”

Another much-awaited part of the event was the raffle of exciting prizes that included two business-class roundtrip international tickets to any Asian destination courtesy of Philippine Airlines; two roundtrip international tickets to any Asia destination courtesy of Cebu Pacific; two gift certificates for an international buffet at Escolta Restaurant at The Peninsula Hotel Manila; as well as GE bar fridges, microwave ovens, water dispensers, cordless phones and golf travel bag, among others. Each participant was also treated to a complete golfer’s souvenir kit consisting of Nike Dri-Fit GE golf shirts, a sleeve of GE golf balls, a GE golf bag and GE golf umbrella. Proceeds from the Mulligan were turned over to GE volunteers to help fund the company’s CSR activities.
