MANILA, Philippines - In recognition of its latest achievement, Parañaque City Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr. congratulated the Parañaque City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PqCCI) headed by Alex Flores on garnering this year’s edition of the Outstanding Chamber in the NCR Award.
The award system is a project of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), which seeks to recognize a local chamber whose leadership and dynamism contributed to the growth and development of the community it serves through active involvement in various advocacies to provide a suitable environment for expansion and development of industry and commerce and implementation of programs, activities and services for its members to promote trade and investments.
The PqCCI met these requirements by implementing innovative projects such as the Online Business Registry Databank, which is the repository of all relevant economic and business information of all establishments operating in the city; promotion of the BMBE law; and active participation in various consultative and advisory councils in the local government, such as the City Development Council, Price Control Council, Bidding and Awards Committee, Solid Waste Management Board, Housing Development Board and Peace and Order Council.
Espousing the slogan “Parañaque’s Partnership for Peace and Progress,” the PqCCI has promoted closer ties between the city government and the business community, creating a positive environment for business to flourish in the city.
“The PqCCI has made great contributions to the development of the city. We thank its officers and members for their continued support of city government programs and congratulate them for continuing to reap awards for outstanding performance. We look forward to working with the Parañaque Chamber of Commerce and Industry in shaping Parañaque into a model city of the 21st century,” Bernabe said.
The PqCCI won the Most Outstanding Chamber in the NCR Award in 1999 and 2000 and this year for the fifth consecutive time since 2005.
