MANILA, Philippines - The latest American Express Membership Rewards Catalogue features accent pieces from globally acclaimed Filipino furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue.
Cardmembers who earn Membership Rewards points each time they use their American Express Card can redeem these exclusive furniture with their points.
This latest Rewards catalogue showcases the ingenious Harry Stool, a seat that literally rocks. The shaggy seat mounted on a stainless steel base mimics the movements of a rocking horse minus its head and tail. It’s complemented by Cobonpue’s “Little People Screen,” a six-foot divider made from natural fiber on hand-bent metal. Both were recently featured in an exhibit of Movement 8 members at the Serenda.
Movement 8 refers to the group of Philippine artists and craftsmen in the last decade who introduced the country to the global market as a source of upscale, high-end furniture in innovative and modernist designs.
Cobonpue, who captures this new aesthetic and markets his items in six continents, was distinguished some weeks ago at the Maison et Objet 2009 show in Paris for exhibiting the Best Product. Considered as the most prestigious furniture event worldwide, Maison et Objet 2009 highlights the world’s biggest furniture brands and their newest collections.
Ma. Nanette R. Regala, who heads the marketing team of American Express Cards in the Philippines, expressed great satisfaction in offering American Express Card members great choices of stylish and premium furniture that they can enjoy with their families.
“We believe these designer items will be greatly appreciated by American Express Card members and will be a good match with their affluent lifestyle,” says Tricia D. Ustare, American Express Loyalty and Rewards marketing manager.
“We believe in attracting customers and winning their loyalty with quality services and products. The same strategy applies to the reward items that we select for our customers,” she adds.
The Cobonpue pieces including the Chiquita Stool that uses a cross-section of natural rattan poles supported by polyurethane will be offered until March 2010. To redeem rewards, American Express Cardmembers simply have to call the Customer Service Hotline at 81-417 and identify the items on the catalogue they wish to acquire in exchange for accumulated points. Rewards are shipped to cardmembers with the compliments of American Express. Cardmembers also enjoy the wide array of fascinating gifts and services available to them as rewards. The most popular are shopping vouchers at upscale department stores. Cardmembers earn one Membership Rewards point for every P45 spent on their card. As such, Regala encourages cardmembers to use their American Express card to redeem gifts for friends and loved ones. The strong appeal of the Rewards items makes gift giving even more convenient for cardmembers.
