BlackBerry Storm hits Manila
MANILA, Philippines - Research in Motion (RIM) recently launched the highly anticipated BlackBerry Storm — the first-ever touch-screen BlackBerry smartphone — at 360 Resto Bar, A. Venue, Makati. On hand was RIM regional VP for Asia-Pacific Gregory Wade, who showed off some of the features that have recently made BlackBerry a bigger seller than the iPhone.
With its innovative “clickable” touch-screen, the new BlackBerry delivers powerful communications and multimedia features. Honored with the GSMA’s Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough award at Mobile World Congress 2009, the Storm features a large 3.25-inch touch-screen with SurePress technology; built-in GPS; a powerful media player that displays movies in full screen, slideshow pictures and manage your music collection (including making playlists); support for 3G (HSPA) connectivity with a full HTML browser; iTunes and Windows Media Player synchronization; 1GB of onboard memory storage (expandable to 16 GB); a 3.2 megapixel camera, and lots of other features.
An ideal status symbol for the style-conscious consumer, the BlackBerry Storm will make a great impression as you travel across town or around the globe.
“We are delighted to bring the Storm to customers in the Philippines,” Wade told media. Smart will be the local telecom carrier for BlackBerry Storm.
