It will be another showcase of Filipino ingenuity and entrepreneurship as SM Megamall holds the 6th Fil-Negosyo Expo at the Megatrade Hall 2 and 3, from June 20-29, 2008.
With the theme “Convergence for Global Competitiveness: Sulong Negosyanteng Global Pinoy,” the event will gather small and medium enterprises (SMEs) engaged in franchising, dealership, direct Selling, transportation, logistics, food and beverage, health and beauty, technology, service business, and training.
“Fil-Negosyo Expo was born out of the belief that entrepreneurship and business are vital in economic growth. Data from the Department of Trade and Industry shows that majority of the SMEs need all sorts of support to further boost their growth,” says Dexter Deyto, SVP , Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall.
He added that the event will offer free business seminars from the business experts representing the country’s top companies to create employment and help combat poverty.
The ten day expo kicks off on June 20 with sessions on financial management, microfinance sources, profitable foodcart businesses, liquid dishwashing and fabric softener making, and the Philippine economic miracle.
On June 21, there will be seminars on liquid dishwashing and fabric softener making, online foreign exchange, home-based meat products business, entrepreneur’s checklist.
Emerging enterprises such as prepaid card business, ink refilling, comic books, water refilling, and wealth management take center stage on June 22.
The four-day Young Entrepreneurs Congress starts on June 23 with seminars on leadership and sales and marketing designed for business students to develop entrepreneurs of the future.
On June 25 and 28, the Expo tackles the new media for marketing which will focus on harnessing the power of the internet and online social networking in boosting business.
Meanwhile, exhibitors will get to know which group to join on June 26 with presentations from the Philippine Marketing Association, Entrepreneurs Society of the Philippines, National Youth Commission, and the Galing Pilipino Movement.
The Expo will explore new enterprises on June 27 with the New Business Series facilitated by DREAM ( Developing Resources for Entrepreneurial & Advancement & Mobilization) discussing basic entrepreneurship, business ideas for young entrepreneurs, and the psychology of entrepreneurial success.
The event draws to a close on June 29 with seminars on meat processing, online investment in the Philippine Stock Exchange, direct selling, and the judicious use of credit card.
Other highlights include the Fil-Negosyo Conference in partnership with training firms, networking and business best practices sharing among exhibitors, and individual mentoring to select exhibitors.
