Home away from home for business travelers

- Julie Cabatit-Alegre -

Just a little over a year has passed since the Ascott sign was raised without much fanfare atop the tower of the 306-room hotel at Glorietta 4, Ayala Center in Makati City.

“The change happened overnight, and the guests just woke up to see the new sign the following morning,” Arthur Gindap, Philippine country general manager of Ascott International, relates. “It was business as usual, as if nothing had changed. We kept all our associates and hotel staff who were assured of their continued employment.”

And so the guests continued to enjoy the same high quality of service that they had gotten used to and have come to expect during their stay.

Ascott International is the largest global serviced residence operator in the Asia Pacific region, the Gulf and Europe. “Our properties are located in over 50 cities in 23 countries around the world,” Gindap says. “Our hospitality track record spans over 20 years, having pioneered Asia Pacific’s first branded luxury serviced residence in 1984. As more people work and live away from home, Ascott International has become a leader in defining global living.”

As a serviced residence, Ascott Makati offers the same luxuries as a five-star hotel as well as the comforts of a home away from home. Its ideal location in the country’s premier financial and commercial district makes it the first choice not only of top business executives but also leisure travelers who want only the best for them and their families.

Ascott Makati offers a selection of deluxe studio, one to three bedrooms, and penthouse units. After its successful re-branding in 2007, the premier property has been undergoing full refurbishment, transforming the serviced residences into elegant units that are uniquely Ascott. The newly styled units, of classic and contemporary inspiration, feature a state-of-the-art entertainment system with a flat-screen LCD, DVD player, and iPod-ready audio connection plus complimentary wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet access. Meticulous attention to details such as the stylish, custom-made and energy-saving lighting fixtures as well as the oversized bedroom pillows ensures that guests are able “to relax, recharge, and function at peak performance.”

With comfortable accommodations for daily as well as extended stays, the residence amenities also feature a fully equipped kitchen, which has been upgraded with new and modern equipment, enabling guests to enjoy home-cooked meals with family and friends. Or they may choose to dine at the hotel’s restaurant and bar, which feature floor-to-ceiling picture windows that enhance the pleasurable dining experience.

A business center, meeting rooms and boardroom with video conferencing facilities, high-speed broadband and wireless Internet access are at the disposal of business travelers, whether on overseas assignment, relocation, or in transit, so they are able to conduct their business efficiently and with ease.

“The privacy and security of our guests is of utmost importance,” Gindap says. This is true for all Ascott properties, which are discreetly located in prime and exclusive environments. And of course, always, there is the distinctive Ascott hallmark of attentive and personalized service.

“We review the guest survey and comments sheet regularly,” Gindap says. “This is our report card.”

With such dedication, it should come as no surprise that your experience at Ascott Makati usually exceeds your expectations.
