The fast-driving Pam de Veyra

SINGLES@WORK - Aurora Diaz-Wilson -
If listening is a virtue, Pam de Veyra is the proverbial ear. Too shy to speak out, our 5’6" bachelorette has evolved into being the note taker, gathering information about industries and analyzing them. Based on what she reads and hears, pretty Pam predicts what the future of an industry might be. If, for example, a power company looks like it is heading into trouble, decision makers will want to know. As associate director for Knowledge Institute, Pam, 31, provides in-depth data to enable them to reach a more informed judgement.

Knowledge Institute is an affiliate company of SGV. Since SGV audits a large number and variety of companies, it is easy for Pam to use her network of contacts to obtain inside information. Sifting rumors from facts, the level of confidence that investors have in certain industries are often based on reports such as those prepared by analysts like Pam.

A La Salle graduate, Pamela de Veyra reflects on being a bear, driving fast cars and eating.

In terms of changing my outlook and attitude, it is people who have helped me the most. A friend has made me happy with his openness of heart.

Be the best that you can be.

Probably to have taken my MBA abroad.

What is your greatest extravagance?

Eating. Good food is so satisfying.

Name a moment that brings back happy memories.

When I got promoted to associate director of SGV. The announcement was made during the firm’s anniversary and I went up on stage for recognition and a photo. There were six of us colleagues who were promoted.

Graduating from a good school, having a good job and making my family proud of me.
