Pia Wurtzbach's wax figure moves to Singapore temporarily
MANILA, Philippines — The wax figure of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach by Madame Tussauds is on display at the museum's Singapore branch until the first of September.
Pia's figure previously debuted in 2019 in Madame Tussauds' Hong Kong branch, which also houses the other Filipino figures — boxer Manny Pacquiao, fellow Miss Universe winner Catriona Gray, and soon, host-actress Anne Curtis.
The former beauty queen herself was present to welcome her replica, which she fondly calls P2 or Pia 2, in Singapore, where she interacted with some lucky fans.
"I'll never forget the first time I saw my wax figure by Madame Tussauds. It was a bit shocking and thrilling at the same time, and the unveiling was definitely the highlight of my life," Pia said in a statement. "I'm really excited that I get to share another moment with P2 and have fun with my fans, this time in Singapore."
She ended with a hope that fans would enjoy interacting with her "twin" and get their own crowning moment, this as the Pia figure is structured to appear as if to crown a successor.
In an Instagram post commemorating the event, Pia teased that P2 might go on a "world tour" in the future.
The Singapore branch of Madame Tussauds, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, also houses figures of other female icons like Dua Lipa, Michelle Yeoh, Serena Williams, and Audrey Hepburn.
On top of P2 finding a temporary new home, Pia recently celebrated her first wedding anniversary with Jeremy Jauncey.
