MANILA, Philippines — From a stress reliever, script lettering or calligraphy has become the profession of artist Paolo Tugano.
From just a hobby, he is now earning “real money” as a script artist through commissions for mostly T-shirt design projects.
For those who want to be successful like him, he said the adage “practice makes perfect” is true, especially if you practice doing the craft every day, starting from your crush’s name.
According to him, thanks to the social media era, calligraphers like him can now showcase their art on Instagram, to be discovered by potential clients.
Tugano was among the artists featured in the recent SM Stationery Art Fest, which included workshops from other artists. — Video by Deni Rose M. Afinidad-Bernardo, editing by EC Toledo IV
