Most Outstanding Kapampangan Award (MOKA) for the Arts
MANILA, Philippines - Art critic Cid Reyes is the recipient of the 2015 Most Outstanding Kapampangan Award (MOKA) in the field of arts. Reyes is the author of coffee table books for four National Artists, Arturo Luz, BenCab (with Krip Yuson), J. Elizalde Navarro, and Napoleon Abueva. A prolific writer, he has written numerous art reviews, interviews, and exhibition notes. For a decade (1995-2004) Reyes wrote a weekly art column “Gallery-Hopping.” He has authored over a dozen other books on various Filipino artists, among which is the landmark book of interviews, Conversations on Philippine Art. Due for release next year are his books on glass sculptor Ramon Orlina, abstractionist Edwin Wilwayco, the CCP art collection, and the FEU art collection.
