MANILA, Philippines - The third concert of Filfest Foundation’s Season 8 will be held on Aug. 29, 8 p.m., at Insular Life Auditorium featuring the MSO’s junior orchestra.
The Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra (MSJO) is composed of young string players aged 7 to 18 years old. Selected through auditions, they are given special training in ensemble playing, sight-reading and instrumental technique under members of the MSO. Many are enrolled in the MSO Music Academy while some are scholars from the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA). Some of the members of the group have been winners and finalists in the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) while others have been featured in TV commercials featuring gifted children. They are being trained under the direction of Jeffrey Solares.
The MSJO has peformed in an outreach concert in Mt. Malasimbo and at the Ayala Museum as part of MSO’s Rush Hour Concert Series.
