SAN FRANCISCO — British pop superstar Sam Smith has unveiled his life-size wax statue at Madame Tussauds in San Francisco and he is inviting fans to cozy up to it.

The Grammy Award winner visited the museum Monday and told fans "Feel free to touch my wax bum!"

After the reveal, Smith took several photographs of him kissing and licking the statue on the cheek and published them on his social media accounts.

The 23-year-old singer says he sat for about four hours with a team of Madame Tussauds artists but then lost weight and had to pose again.

Smith's song "Stay With Me" won Grammys for song and record of the year and he also was named best new artist in February. The singer's "In the Lonely Hour" was named best pop vocal album.
