The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Numerous issues surrounding a major development that could transform the country’s educational system will be up for discussion when the Edu Summit on ASEAN integration gets underway on Feb. 23 and 24 at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

Hosted by International Education Specialists (Inter-Ed), the two-day conference will tackle the upcoming ASEAN integration that will take place this year and its far-reaching effects on the country’s educational system as it gears to move forward towards change and progress.

Considered as one of the most meaningful and up-to-date roundtable discussions on the subject, the summit aims to promote greater knowledge and deeper understanding of the program among members of the Philippine academic community.

Through an open, informative and thought-provoking program, the conference hopes to develop viable strategies and solutions to the challenges and problems facing universities and colleges in the wake of the ASEAN integration program.

Participants from various colleges, universities and secondary schools will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with the speakers and fellow educators during the question-and-answer forum, focus group discussions and social networking sessions that will highlight the event.

The meeting shall feature a select group of speakers and resource persons from the government, academe, international qualification experts and ASEAN embassy representatives who shall share their views and insights on integration from different perspectives.

The Association of Marketing Educators (AME), an organization dedicated to the professional development and advancement of professors teaching marketing, has pledged its full support to the conference in a memorandum of agreement (MOA) it signed with Inter-Ed.

The MOA was signed by Ernesto B. Arpon, AME president, and Roger B. Bartholomew, Inter-Ed president, in the presence of Dr. Jennifer Ramos, AME vice president-internal affairs, and Helen U. Bartholomew, Inter-Ed founder.

The Edu Summit on ASEAN integration has been officially endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and Department of Labor and Employment and has the official support of the Office of the President and members of the Philippine Senate.

Since 1980, the Edu Summit organizers, Inter-Ed, has been at the forefront of promoting global education, helping countless students and professionals plan their career by raising awareness about the importance of choosing the right courses to match their qualifications.
