Joven Ignacio’s ‘Amoroso’ at ArtistSpace
MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation presents the works of painter Joven Ignacio in “Amoroso†on view until July 6 at the ArtistSpace of Ayala Museum.
“Amoroso†showcases the latest works of the artist inspired by the cloth called alampays or veils — head and shoulder ornamentation worn by the older Filipino generations. The exhibit shows different variations on the ornamentation of the cloth coming from various parts of the country, and other heirloom pieces that women would wear with the cloth.
Proceeds from this art exhibit will benefit the MCO Foundation’s Young Artists’ Development Program. The MCOF, now in its 29th year, is committed to its mission of supporting young and highly talented classical musicians through giving them performance opportunities, free master classes and workshops by master artists. This program has become a venue for young artists’ official debut as artists.
