Writing workshop for young adults in Baguio
MANILA, Philippines - The Baguio Writers Group, last year’s Gawad Pedro Bucaneg awardee of the Unyon ng mga Manunulat ng Pilipinas, in cooperation with Mt Cloud Bookshop, will hold a young adults writers’ workshop from May 23 to 24, with a reading at the bookshop on the 25th, at Frangeli House, 1 Saint George Drive, Saint George Hill, Bakakeng Norte, Baguio City.
Resource persons are Luchie Maranan, a Palanca award-winning author for her children’s short story “Pangatâ€; Jenny Cariño, BWG president and published poet in national and international anthologies; Feliz Perez, a high school teacher, writer and anthropologist; and Junley Lazaga, BWG vice president, UP Baguio Department of Language, Literature and the Arts head, and poet published in English, Filipino and Iluko. Facilitator is Marisol Montilla, Mt Cloud Bookshop manager and expert on creative flows.
The workshop, which has 15 slots available, is open to kids ages 12 to 16. Workshop fee of P2,000 covers lunch, snacks and workshop materials.
