Ateneo’s Kritika Kultura and ACELT to hold K-12 literature conference

MANILA, Philippines - Kritika Kultura (KK) — the international refereed journal of language, literary, and cultural studies — and the Ateneo Center for English Language Teaching (ACELT) will co-organize a national literature teaching conference in line with the enhanced basic education curriculum also known as the K-12 on Feb. 15 at Leong Hall Auditorium, Ateneo de Manila University.

Titled “Literature, Region, and the World in K-12,” the conference trains teachers of literature in grades 9 to 12. The one-day conference features a morning plenary sessions by leading scholars, and parallel workshops in the afternoon on 21st century world literature and regional literatures and the arts, which specialists will facilitate.

Plenary talks include Dr. Isagani Cruz, Dr. E. San Juan, Dr. Resil Mojares, Dr. Judy Ick, and Dr. Oscar Campomanes. Facilitating the parallel sessions are Danilo Reyes and Michelle Paterno (Southeast Asian Literature); Louie Jon A. Sanchez and Len Canilao (Literature in Filipino); Dr. Cyan Abad Jugo and Ma. Gabriella Martin (21st Century Novel); Dr. Vincenz Serrano and Mark Anthony Cayanan (21st Century Poetry); Dr. Hope Sabanpan-Yu and Miguel Antonio Lizada (Cebuano Literature); Dr. Socorro Perez and Cheche Suarez (Ilocano Literature); and Dr. Jason Jacobo and Dr. Marianne Perfecto (Bikol Liteature).

Regular registration fee is P 1,600, which covers the conference kit, handouts, latest copy of ACELT Forum, lunch and snacks.
