Steps Dance Studio holds 19th summer workshop
MANILA, Philippines - Now in its 19th year, Steps Dance Studio offers its regular dance classes in classical ballet, modern jazz, jazz dance, street dance, and tap dance this summer.
To enhance the skills of Steps’ dancers even further, Steps also offers classes such as Pilates for dancers, a form of cross training to increase core strength; partnering for beginners and advanced classical ballet, which teaches female students how to dance with a male partner; improvisation and composition; and music for dancers.
Highlight of the workshop is the annual, one-night only concert, which will be held on June 2 at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
All students will participate in this culminating activity, which showcases excerpts from Don Quixote. The third act features students from modern, jazz, tap, street dance and other classes.
Among the performers are scholars of The Steps Scholarship Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Sofia Zobel-Elizalde, founder and managing director of Steps.
