MANILA, Philippines - The National Commission for Culture and the Arts recently staged Dance Xchange 2013 at Puerto Princesa, Palawan. The event saw both Filipino and foreign dance artists alike exchanging knowledge and different dance styles and techniques.
Philstar.com was there to witness the festivities and the enthusiasm shown by those who participated is testament to the language of dance, which is indeed something that everyone can speak no matter how different, no matter how unique.
A series of articles, photos, and videos will show just how dynamic dance is here in the country and its similarities with those from other parts of the world as well.
One group that certainly made an impression during the festival was Women Unite of South Africa. In the video below, Thandi Swaartbooi talks about her impressions of Dance Xchange 2013 and a clip of her and members of Women Unite South Africa as they share their dance culture with Filipinos.
