‘Riverscapes In Flux’ at Met Museum
The Metropolitan Museum of Manila and the Goethe-Institut mount “Riverscapes In Flux,†which is on view until April 13 at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Complex, Roxas Blvd., Malate, Manila.
Seventeen artists from Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines explore how people interact with water though art installations and intermedia, meditating on a life and world that is, like the river, constantly in flux.
Initiated by Goethe-Institut Vietnam, the traveling exhibition has been shown in Hanoi, Saigon, Bangkok, Phnom Penh and now in Manila before moving to its last destination in Jakarta in June. The Manila run is curated by Claro Ramirez Jr. and features the works of Filipino artists Jon Romero and Christine Poblador among the 17 Southeast Asian artists.
