'Other Views' at Galerie Y
MANILA, Philippines - Galerie Y presents “Other Views,” a group exhibit featuring landscapes, portraits and city scenes from around the world in oil and acrylic by three doctors and a writer. Doctors Sylvia Jacinto (dermatologist), Elizabeth Tianco (dermatologist and lawyer), Pinky Genuino (ophthalmologist) and Philippine STAR columnist Scott Garceau show canvases reflecting their travels here and abroad.
This is the fifth exhibit for Dr. Jacinto, returning to her “first love” of painting with surreal and colorful underwater scenes in oil. Dr. Tianco has participated in exhibits of the Philippine Medical Association and Philippine Dermatological Society and a co-exhibit in 2001 with Dr. Jacinto at Galerie Y. Garceau, an American columnist and editor for The STAR, was included in the group show “18x24” at Metro Gallery in 2009. Dr. Genuino has been painting since age nine, and has had a one solo show and a co-exhibit with Dr. Jacinto.
“Other Views” opens Wednesday, June 20, 6 p.m. and runs until June 30. Galerie Y is on the 4th floor of the Artwalk, SM Megamall Building A.
