MANILA, Philippines - Earlier this year, over 3,500 city dwellers made their way to Mindoro to enjoy a three-day festival at the Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival.
Volume Unit Entertainment — the organizers of the Malasimbo Festival — presents the first-ever Manila Music Festival. Aligned with the Department of Tourism’s Multi-Festival Tourism Strategy and with the endorsement of Secretary Jimenez and his office, the Manila Music Festival will take place on Labor Day, May 1.
The festival will feature headlining international acts Shinichi Osawa (Mondo Grosso; Japan) and Ali Shaheed Muhammad from A Tribe Called Quest (NYC), as well as the “Amen Ra of the Universal Hip-Hop Culture,” Afrika Bambaataa (Zulu Nation; NYC).
Festival-goers will also be treated to some of Manila’s finest performers who are no strangers to the big stage. Razorback, Kjwan, Wilabaliw, SinoSikat, Lady I and June Marieezy will serve up some Rock, Pinoy Soul, Reggae, Dancehall, and Hip hop.
The festival will take place at the Alphaland Bay City at Aseana Avenue, Parañaque, near the Mall of Asia.
Tickets are available at Ticketworld for P1,500 and at the event gate for P2,000. Gates open at 1 p.m. For information, visit http://ManilaMusicFestival.com, the Manila Music Festival Facebook page, and Twitter @ManilaMusicFest.
