Lino Acasio at Galeria Orlina
Lino Acasio unveils his recent paintings of luscious and peaceful Philippine countryside and landscapes in his third solo exhibition titled “Dito Po Sa Amin,” which opens on April 26, 3 p.m., at Galeria Orlina, Taal, Batangas.
Renowned art critic Mr. Cid Reyes has this to say about the paintings of Acasio: “Celebration of an earthly paradise is the obsessive theme of Acasio’s art, and fortunate is the province of Batangas, the artist’s birthplace, for the many canvases that Acasio has wrought, immortalizing the landscapes that have nourished him spiritually and artistically.”
Featured is a painting of the serpentine “Pansipit River.” The river emanates from Taal Lake and courses through the length of Batangas. The rest of the collection showcases the mountainous landscapes of Taal, Tagaytay, and neighboring towns of Batangas; bahay kubos and bahay na batos nestled in romantic greenery and a profusion of colors that are hallmarks of Acasio’s masterful paintings.
The show is on view until May 31.
The opening of the art event coincides with the trade and cultural festival of Taal town called El Pasubat that runs from April 26 to 28. It is a three-day town activity that will showcase quality native food and consumer products plus cultural presentations and visita dela casa.
