Ballet summer workshop set
MANILA, Philippines - Perry Sevidal Ballet Summer Intensive will be held from March 28 to June 1. The workshop will offer classical ballet, modern dance, kiddie hiphop, teen jazz, Classical Pilates mat work, and choreography with Peter Alcedo Jr., formerly of Powerdance, Brando Miranda, former principal of Royal New Zealand Ballet, choreographer Gerardo Francisco, and Osias Barroso, associate artistic director of Ballet Manila.
The faculty is composed of professional dancers with years of extensive experience. There is also a ladies’ ballet class for women of a certain age. The culminating event is a summer workshop on June 2 at the CCP Main Theater.
The repertoire will include excerpts from Giselle and Faust and a suite dedicated to Elvis Presley.
Perry Sevidal is the former rehearsal mistress and soloist of Ballet Philippines. Judell Sican is a certified Pilates instructor and former dancer of BP. Susan Decena is a children’s ballet and tap dance teacher.
