MANILA, Philippines - The Filfest Cultural Foundation, in partnership with Insular, ends its 4th season on Oct. 22 at 8 p.m. at the Insular Hall, Alabang featuring soprano Rachelle Gerodias, baritone Andrew Fernando and Filharmonika, under the baton of Gerard Salonga.
“All-chestra” presented different orchestral ensembles such as the Manila Symphony Orchestra, the PREDIS Chamber Orchestra and the Clarion Chamber Ensemble along with some of the country’s leading soloists like pianist and tenor Carlos Ibay, violinist Joseph Esmilla, cellist Wilfredo Pasamba and pianist Rudolf Golez.
Filfest’s mission is to present the best possible classical music performances for the benefit, entertainment, exposure and appreciation of audiences particularly in the Metro Southwith support from Insular and BMW, followed by 98.7 FM DZFE The Master’s Touch, San Miguel and Rustan’s.
Rachelle, Andrew and Filharmonika reinterpret the works of Mozart (The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni and Cosi Fan Tutte), Rossini (The Barber of Seville), Verdi (La Traviata), Bellini (I Puritani), Gershwin (Porgy & Bess) and Bizet (Carmen).
