Congressional Spouses Foundation mounts 'Sining sa Kongreso'
MANILA, Philippines - The Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc. (CSFI) mounts “Sining sa Kongreso: An Exhibition of Modern Masters and Contemporary Artists,” which is on view until Sept. 30 at the South Wing lobby of the House of Representatives, Batasan, HOR Complex, Constitution Hills, Quezon City.
This year’s exhibition — presented by the CSFI with Mons Romulo, Paula Bondoc and Elvira Duavit as this year’s key persons — featured the works of some of the masters of Philippine contemporary art such as National Artist Arturo Luz and Malang, among others. The event was organized with the assistance of Bong Verzosa, Jerome Jimenez, Sari Ortiga and Chari Elinzano.
Proceeds from this project will go to a scholarship project for women. The officers of the CSFI are: Ma. Elvira Duavit, secretary; Violeta Mendoza, assistant secretary, Richard Gomez, treasurer and vice chairperson of the Committee on Ways and Means; Evelina Escudero, assistant treasurer; Mary Jane Ortega, auditor; Mayor Esther Bernos, assistant auditor; Elizabeth Quisumbing, chairperson of the Committe on Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Development; Dr. Amelia Go, vice chairperson of the Committe on Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Development; Mons Romulo, chairperson of the Committee on Public Information and Communication; Melanie Alvarez, vice chairperson of Committee on Public Information and Communication; Maria Salome Aquino, chairperson of the Committee on Socio-Civic; Rossana Belmonte, vice chairperson of the Committee on Socio-Civic; Divina Grace Yu, chairperson of the Committee on Structural Restoration and Preservaion of HOR Facilities; Jihan Jaafar, vice chairperson of the Committee on Structural Restoration and Preservaion of HOR Facilities; Ruth Padilla, coordinator for Luzon; Lourdes Suzette Del Rosario, coordinator for Visayas; Maria Margarita Nograles, coordinator for Mindanao; Edna Marcoleta, party-list coordinator; and Atty.
