Ballet Philippines stages 'Kabaret'

MANILA, Philippines - Ballet Philippines performers Kabaret, for mature audiences only, from March 18 to 19, 9 p.m. at the well-appointed Arts in the City in Bonifacio Glboal City, Taguig.

Neo-Filipino is Ballet Philippines’ seasonal production, which features all-new choreography by Filipino talents. What started out as a training ground for budding choreographers, Neo-Filipino has evolved into a wellspring of fresh ideas for the company. Choreographers get the chance to break out of their usual mold, push the envelope and change the rules of the game altogether

In Kabaret (pronounced the Filipino way), the company will be challenged to do what they don’t normally do — get in touch with their most primal self in a kabaret setting.

There will be new works by BP artistic director Paul Alexander Morales, resident choreographer Alden Lugnasin, principal dancer Carissa Adea, and theater actor/director/choreographer Tess Jamias.

Guests include the Pole Academy of the Philippines, with the participation of Eisa Jocson, winner of the 1st Philippine Pole Dance Competition.

Ticket prices start at P1,000 with 50 percent discount for students 18 years and above, and 20 percent discount for senior citizens.
