MANILA, Philippines - The University of Santo Tomas (UST) pays tribute to the Filipino artist Vicente Manansala, one of the National Artist for Visual Arts, whose brief stint in the University as a faculty member of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts in the ’60s could only be described as fleeting but fruitful.
The UST Museum, in cooperation with the College of Fine Arts and Design, presents an exhibition of Manansala’s works that count as an evidence of his priceless legacy to Thomasians. The main highlight of the exhibit is Manansala’s “History of Medicine,” a mural at the lobby of St. Martin de Porres’ Building, home to the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.
The exhibition runs until Dec. 17 at the UST Museum.
