CCP stays open today for Cinemalaya festival run
MANILA, Philippines - The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), which is usually closed on Mondays, will stay open today for the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and Competition which will run until July 18 at the CCP.
Competition films scheduled for screening today are Rekrut by Danny Añonuevo, Sampaguita by Francis Xavier Pasion, Si Techie, Si Teknoboy at si JuanaB by Art Katipunan, Vox Populi by Dennis Marasigan, Halaw by Sheron Dayoc, Magkakapatid by Kim Homer C. Garcia, Mayohan by Dan Villegas and Paul Sta. Ana in the full-length feature category; Pink Halo Halo by Joselito Altarejos, Donor by Mark Meily, Two Funerals by Gil Portes, Sigwa by Joel Lamangan and Ang Paglilitis ni Andres Bonifacio by Mario O’Hara in the Directors Showcase and the films in the Short feature category, namely, Harang by Mikhail Red, Hay Pinhod Oh Ya Scooter by Hubert Tibi, Lola by Joey Agbayani, P by Milo Tolentino, Wag Kang Titingin by Pam Miras, Boca by Zurich Chan; Breakfast with Lolo by Steven Flor, Dalaw by Janus Victoria, Despedida by Borgy Torre and Faculty by Jerrold Tarog. In the Netpac section, the film Ang Ninanais by John Torres will be shown.
Exhibition films to be screened today are Gregorio Fernandez’ 1960 film Kung Ako’y Mahal Mo, which is part of the LVN retrospective, short documentary films in Documen-Tary, Buenavista by Felino Tanada, Cinemalaya film Sanglaan by Milo Sogueco, and Anacbanua by Christopher Gozum.
