Young pianist in concert with the Manila Shymphony Orchestra

MANILA, Philippines - Fourteen-year-old pianist Lorenzo Medel will perform his second solo piano recital on June 27, 7:30 p.m., with the Manila Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jeffrey Solares at the Philamlife Theater, UN Avenue in Manila.

Medel won first prize in the 2009 National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA), Piano Category and the 2009 Piano Teachers’ Guild of the Philippines (PTGP), Beethoven Piano Competition for Young Pianists. His repertoire includes Beethoven’s Concerto No. 3 in C minor as his main piece and other compositions by Schumann, Scarlatti, Debussy, Bartok and two Filipino composers, Antonio Molina and Ramon Santos.
