Donna Miranda at PETA Theater Center
MANILA, Philippines - Donna Miranda will perform at the PETA Theater Center tomorrow and on June 17. Choreographing more than just moving bodies but the conditions within which these bodies move, Miranda pursues what she has called “an exercise in disclosure and transparency” in this performance work titled ‘Anything Less is Less Than a Reckless Act.’
Miranda is artistic director of The Lovegangsters, an open collective of artists & thinkers working in performance, & has participated in several intercultural exchange, dialogue, and collaboration projects in Asia & Europe. She is also co-founder of Green Papaya Art Projects, a platform that facilitates contemporary dance practice among other art engagements in Manila. In 2007 she received the Jury Prize at the Yokohama Dance Collection-R Solo x Duo Competition & was nominated for the Rolex Mentor-Protégé Arts Initiative.
PETA Theater Center is at 5 Eymard Drive New Manila, Quezon City (behind QC Sports Club) on June 15 and 17, 2010; 7:00 pm. Tickets are P300 each and P250 for students.
