Federico Aguilar Alcuaz at Alliance Française

MANILA, Philippines - Federico Aguilar Alcuaz showcases his landscapes, still lifes and abstracts in oil, watercolor and mixed media, as well as some drawings and prints in “Peintures,” which opens tomorrow at Alliance Française Total Gallery, 209 Nicanor Garcia st., Bel Air II, Makati City. The show runs until April 30.

The exhibit revolves around the artist’s links to France. Not known to many, Alcuaz exhibited not only in Barcelona but also in Paris, and was recognized and awarded several honors by the French Republic.

‘Four Shows’ at SM Art Center

The Galerie Joaquin Group presents “Four Shows,” solo exhibits by four contemporary artists in one venue, which opens on April 14 at SM Art Center, Art Walk, SM Megmall A, Mandaluyong City. The show runs until April 21.

‘Kasadya’ at GSIS Museum

The Art Association of Bacolod-Negros presents “Kasadya,” which is on view until April 16 at the GSIS Museum, GSIS Bldg., Financial Complex, Pasay City.

The word “kasadya” denotes festivity and fun, an Ilonggo trademark best exemplified in the MassKara celebration.

 This is the first time that the group, headed by Nunelucio Alvarado, is showcasing its artworks outside Bacolod.

The show features 40 artworks done by 29 Negrense artists namely Bogie Alvarado, Nuklar Alvarado, Marjorie Ann Angudong, Arthur Bayles, Daniel Bayles, Elijah Bayles, Miriam Bayles, Bert Berondo, Carlos Berondo, Jun Jun Berondo, Hilario Campos III, Ramon delos Santos, Giovanie Demasu-ay, Dolly Gatuslao, Sony Golez, Frelan Gonzaga, Chin Guanzon, Joan of Art Honoridez, Tagoy Jakosalem, Mark Maquimay, Princy Martir, Bea Mocorro, Jeffrey Montano, Carlos Ruiz, Bing Sedonio, Edbon Sevilleno, Francis Tan, and Ian Valladarez.
