BenCab's recent works at the BenCab Museum
MANILA, Philippines - “Draped Figures,” a solo exhibition of recent works by BenCab, is on view at the Gallery Indigo of the BenCab Museum until April 28.
Art historian, Cecil Gould, explains “The draped figure may be thought of as the necessary complement to the nude figure. As such it has always been regarded, and loved, by artists. Whether as abstract shapes, whose folds provide contrasts of light and color and increase the effect of plasticity, or as a means of stimulating desire through partial concealment, the relationship of body and drapery has been one of endless variety and endless delight to innumerable painters and sculptors.”
The BenCab Museum is on Km. 6 Asin Road, Tuba, Metro Baguio. For details, call tel. +63 74 4427165, e-mail bencabartfoundation@gmail.com, or visit www.bencabmuseum.org.
