MANILA, Philippines - The Galerie Joaquin Group of Galleries celebrates eight years of bringing fine art to collectors and enthusiasts in the country and overseas in “Year 8,” which opens on Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. at SM Art Center, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. The show runs until Jan. 24.
“Year 8” unveils a seminal collection of the best works of some of the country’s foremost contemporary modern artists. It is a joint project of Galerie Joaquin Main, Galerie Francesca, Galerie Joaquin Podium, Galerie Raphael, Galerie Stephanie, Galleria Nicolas and Galerie Joaquin Singapore.
The exhibit features works of renowned artists such as Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Sanso, Lydia Velasco, Mario Parial, Carlo Magno, Dominic Rubio, Eufemio Rasco, Jaspher Penuliar, Jovan Benito, Amador Barquilla, Jerry Morada, Karina Baluyut, Edwin Tres Reyes, Joselito Dayono, Aljo Pingol, Delluba, Aileen Lanuza, Vincent de Pio, PJ Jalandoni and Phil de Guzman. It also includes works from artists Galerie Joaquin worked with through the years such as sculptures by Ramon Orlina, Michael Cacnio and Daniel dela Cruz, and paintings by Juanito Torres.
The show gives viewers a veritable mosaic of the art offerings Galerie Joaquin brings to collectors in the country, in its Singapore branch and in the international art fairs and auctions. Each work depicts the artist’s interpretation of life and its limitless possibilities. The artworks form a rich tapestry of the milieu in which some of the best contemporary artists find expression for their creative spirit.
