MANILA, Philippines - Louie Ignacio rendered the glorious images of the blessed Madonna and Child, which kept coming in his dreams, in his second one-man show “Ave Maria,” which opens on Dec. 7 at ArtAsia Gallery, fourth floor, SM Megamall A, Mandaluyong City.
As a child, Ignacio was a choir member of the Crusaders of the Lady of the Abandoned at Sta. Ana, Manila parish. He is now a devotee of Mother Mary. In fact, a replica of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which he painted al fresco style, greets visitors in his vacation house along Pagsanjan Falls in Pagsanjan, Laguna.
Ignacio’s medium hints at the outpouring and dripping technique of the iconoclastic Jackson Pollock who at the time was paid the highest for his modern painting.
Proceeds of the show will go to various charitable institutions. For inquiries, call or SMS 0918-5827927.
