St. Scho's 'KulasaKaBa?' at Philamlife Auditorium

-

MANILA, Philippines - The Sr. Baptista Battig Music Foundation of St. Scholastica’s College, in cooperation with the St. Scholastica’s College Alumnae Foundation, Inc., presents “KulasaKaBa? One Music. One Voice. One Hope,” on Nov. 20 at the Philamlife Auditorium, United Nations Ave., Manila.

The concert, which is a celebration of music from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s all the way to the present, features an all-Kulasa ensemble — Imago, The Original Penthouse 7 Gang, among others — with Mitch Valdez as host.

“Kulasa” is a coined word for a Scholastican, a student of St. Scholastica’s College.

“KulasaKaBa?” is a call to converge all Kulasas of different generations to initiate a strong representational voice advocating change and hope for the next generation in a night of pure fun and music.

Proceeds of the event will go to the Sr. Baptista Battip Music Foundation Scholarship Trust Fund and the St. Scholastica Research and Development Fund.

Over the years, the Sr. Baptista Battig Music Foundation has been providing underprivileged Filipino youth access to music as an alternative education or as a profession. Through the foundation’s outreach programs, it is able to tap and hone musically gifted youth by providing short-term training courses or two-year or four-year formal education at the St. Scholastica’s College of Music under a scholarship program.

The concert aims not only to strengthen the bond among Kulasas but also provide a venue for awareness to youth on what they can do to help.

Tickets are priced at P1,000. For inquiries, call 526-8080 or 986-4902.
