Stephanie Reese holds pre-Carnegie Hall concert

-

MANILA, Philippines - International singer and actress Stephanie Reese will perform in a pre-Carnegie Hall concert titled “I Am Stephanie Reese” on Oct. 2, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum, Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills Shopping Complex, San Juan. Theater stalwart Audie Gemora is the featured guest.

The “I Am Stephanie Reese” concert was first performed to a sold-out audience at the Teatrino in May 2009.

Her solo debut in New York’s famed Carnegie Hall on Nov. 7 is another milestone in her career, which began in the theater by starring in Miss Saigon (Germany), Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame (Germany), King and I (London) and Master Class (Los Angeles). Filipino pop singer Regine Velasquez and Broadway star Lea Salonga also performed in same concert venue in 1991 and 2005 respectively.

“I was a small girl singing in a choir when I first performed at the Carnegie. To be able to star in my own show on the very same stage has been my childhood dream,” recalls Stephanie. She adds, “The pre-Carnegie concert at the Music Museum will feature around 50 percent of my act in New York. I’m performing a diverse selection of songs that reflects my exposure to music from around the world. I’d be honored to share this evening with you.”

Apart from Audie, she has Argentinean dance sensation Sergio Viglini as guest. Glen Lemen is her musical director.

Stephanie studied opera at the Indiana University and at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for Musical Theatre. She was a dedicated voice student of the late Eileen Manzin.
