MANILA, Philippines – Ikoy Ricio will conduct a sawdust sculpture workshop on April 13, 14, 15, and 17, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lopez Museum, ground floor, Benpres Bldg., Exchange Rd. corner Meralco Ave., Pasig City.
Ricio will teach participants (21 years old and above) how to create sculptures — from framework-making, sawdust-coating to putting finishing touches. Workshop fee is P3,000 inclusive of materials and handouts.
Ricio graduated from the UP College of Fine Arts and studied sawdust sculpture under Roberto Feleo.
He created sawdust sculptures based on Amorsolo’s illustrations for Camilo Osia’s Philippine Reader (1924) such as “Soap Parade,” “Coat Sprint,” “Towel Stun,” and “Towel Crawl,” among others.
