Art magazine explores edgy contemporary art

MANILA, Philippines - The third issue of Contemporary Art Philippines is now available on the magazine stands with artist Ronald Ventura’s latest sculpture on the cover. The issue includes extensive feature on Grupong Salingpusa, the art group that spawned some of today’s major contemporary artists such as Elmer Borlongan, Mark Justiniani, Manny Garibay, Joy Mallari, and Jon Santos among others. Plus the late Santi Bose in the words of his own daughter, writer Lilledeshan Bose; contemporary Chinese art’s roots in the Cultural Revolution; and landmark works of Philippine Social Realism as curated by noted critic Alice Guillermo for the White Wall.

Debuting in the current issue is ART@, a new travel section with art on the agenda — from leading museums, galleries and special exhibits and personalities of a featured art capital.

Contemporary Art Philippines, the magazine that tracks the landscape of the visual arts in the Philippines, as well as in key cities in the Southeast Asian Region, is now available at all leading bookstores including Powerbooks, Fully Booked, and National Book Store.
