'Manila Sound' at Kaida

-

MANILA, Philippines - Japanese photographer Koji Onaka and Filipino visual artist Noell El Farol team-up for the first time in a photography exhibition titled, “ManilaBox,” on view at Kaida Gallery, along Kamuning Road, Quezon City.

Collaborating with Onaka and EL Farol in this unique exhibition is a Japanese sound artist, Seido Toshiyuki.

Toshiyuki transformed Onaka and EL Farol’s photographs into a template of cards with his recorded “sound art” and noises. The result, uniquely presented similar to a gift box, includes 25 photographs of Onaka and EL Farol in a limited edition of 250 boxes.

Simultaneous with the photography exhibition at the Gray Wall of the gallery are sound-emitting objects created by Ruel Caasi, Noëll EL Farol, Lirio Salvador, Renato Ong, Mervy Pueblo and Claro Ramirez.
