'Flora & Fauna in Philippine Art' launched at SM Megamall's Art Center
MANILA, Philippines -- In time for the celebration of the National Arts Month of February, art patron, businessman and publisher Carlos Arellano has launched "Flora and Fauna in Philippine Art" last Feb. 11 at the Art Center of SM Megamall. The book is the fourth installment of the series “A Collection of Ageless Art”.
“This book calls for a sustained support for art and the environment. Still and all, our ultimate objective is to promote art in our country as a tradable and marketable commodity, with proper valuation and business opportunities,” Arellano said.
Featuring 140 artworks by Filipino masters, and established and emerging artists, all of them will be exhibited for two weeks. Proceeds from the sales of books and artworks will benefit the Helping Hands and Hearts Foundation for the construction of classrooms of the Alunan Elementary School in Tarlac and the Summa-Hana Arts and Language Foundation in line with its project “Art with a HEART”.
The Editorial Team is composed of Palanca-awardee Alfred A. Yuson as executive editor with Nola Almario-Cadayona as associate publisher and James Neil Viola, book designer. Publishing company is Onion & Chives, Inc.
