Philanthropist Renena Prieto recently celebrated her 90th birthday at the Garden Ballroom of EDSA Shangri-La, Manila in Mandaluyong City, which was lovingly hosted and organized by her children Victor, Cocoy, Vernon, Tina, Virgil and Valerie.

Fondly known as Nena, this remarkable woman, a devotee of Ina Poonbato, patroness of Botolan, Zambales, has helped build chapels, schools, a home for retired priests, and is a staunch supporter of the charitable endeavors of the new Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle and Cardinal Orlando Quevedo.

Her special day began with a thanksgiving Mass led by Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, followed by dinner and a wonderful performance of Broadway songs by Cocoy Laurel and Francis Corona.

It was a wonderful celebration of the life of a beloved wife, mother, friend, and all-around wonderful woman.

Many happy returns, dear Nena!
