A glamorous photo exhibit celebrating the 16th Best Dressed Women of the Philippines (BDWP) was recently mounted at The Gallery in Greenbelt 5, Makati City.
Through the guidance of the late Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) former chairman and Camera Club of the Philippines (CCP) former president Dr. Bobby Paterno, the portraits for a cause became the annual prelude to the much-awaited awards ball and a tie-up between the BDWP and the prestigious camera organization.
The annual photo exhibit, which started in 2009, has since featured some of the most illustrious men and women in the country with one common goal — helping raise funds for the cancer prevention programs of PCS.
The exhibit featured portraits of the 2019 BDWP awardees, Woman of Style and Influence Alice Eduardo and Ambassadors for Life and Men of Extraordinary Influence. Also included in the exhibit were portraits of the BDWP team led by event chairperson Angola Consul Helen Ong, selection and organizing committee composed of your columnist and Mabel Abaño as advisers, project head Roselle Rebano and members Tanzania Consul Betty Chua, Flora Chua, Roy Gonzales, Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa and Mario Katigbak. The portraits were skillfully taken by expert photographers and CCP members Rey Ortiz and Raul Montifar.
Many thanks to the numerous donors and sponsors including French Baker, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, for the cocktails, thanks to Richie and Karen Lerma of Salcedo Auctions Gallery, Moments in Heels, Okada Manila and Mia Lozada of Bloomwoods.
Congratulations to the Camera Club of the Philippines and the Best Dressed Women of the Philippines for a successful photo exhibit!
The 16th annual Awards Ball of the Best Dressed Women of the Philippines — the biggest fundraising resource of the Philippine Cancer Society — will be held on Sept. 25 at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila in Parañaque City. *
