MANILA, Philippines — Dubbed as the Lion City, Singapore is roaring with unique fashion and beauty brands, culture finds and mouthwatering street food. Would you like to experience everything that Singapore has to offer right here in Manila? You can.
Mark your calendars as The Podium in Ortigas offers an exciting line-up of activities for Pinoys to have a taste of Singapore with Singaporium, a lifestyle and food pop-up, until Sept. 15. The Singaporium pop-up is set to bring 17 leading fashion, art and food brands from Singapore. It is organized by Enterprise Singapore, the government agency helping Singapore companies grow and globalize.
It is never too early to start Christmas shopping and what better gifts than unique, imported items from Singapore? Must-see lifestyle brands with art collectibles and amazing décor include Klosh, Playnation and the award-winning Mighty Jaxx.
Fashionistas and beauty addicts shouldn’t miss out on Our Second Nature, a clothing brand that focuses on comfortable, everyday wear, and Porcelain, a skin specialist brand.
In addition to the Singaporium, there will be a display of artworks featuring Master Sun Yu Li, one of Singapore’s leading artists, and Ramon Orlina, a renowned pioneering glass sculptor in the Philippines and abroad.
Li is an artist who is interested, not in forms per se, but in finding the form from which all forms originate. Based on this fundamental philosophy, he builds creations with a distinctive style and innovative technique. In addition to his pieces of sculpture, digital art and drawings, one such creation — 50 cardboards forming one larger-than-life artwork — will be on display and available for sale, along with Orlina’s exquisite pieces of sculpture.
A partnership between Keppel Land and BDO Unibank, The Podium elevates the lifestyle scene of the Ortigas central business district with an updated array of retail, dining, service and leisure offerings. Dubbed as Green Mark-certified and a LEED-compliant project, the architecture is co-designed by two of the industry’s top architectural firms — Arquitectonica and Felix S. Lim and Associates Co.
Singapore’s Ming Fa will be serving the country’s specialties, such as laksa and minced pork noodles. Other favorite Singaporean specialties, like Stuff’d’s fresh kebabs, burritos, salads and bowls, and Collin’s restaurant’s award-winning Western cuisine will be featured at pocket-friendly prices.
Discover new trends and tastes by immersing yourselves in Singaporean culture. *
