A beloved patriarch
“Our birthdays are feathers in the broad wing of time.” — Jean Paul
The Ablaza family’s beloved patriarch, Zambia Consul Louie Ablaza, was recently fêted with a vintage-themed party. The celebration was also a trip down memory lane in celebration of his 81st birthday.
The family, led by Louie’s wife, Guatemala Consul Mellie Ablaza and their children, unveiled their private museum at Hacienda Amelia, their sprawling hideaway in Alfonso, Cavite. Dubbed their “happy place,” the imposing two-story edifice holds many of the family’s prized possessions and mementoes with rich and beautiful stories meant to be told and shared with people who became part of their lives.

During the festivities, guests were treated to an exclusive viewing of Louie’s impressive collection of vintage cars, as well as a gastronomic indulgence for lunch.
It was truly an unforgettable celebration for a well-loved husband and father. Many happy returns, Louie!
